Weekly activities conclusion

First semester

Weekly activities helps in increasing collaboration and has a scope for brainstorming, which results in getting more ideas. Therefore you can see a growth in productivity.
To solve complex problems and to complete difficult tasks, the team works better than an individual.
You can improve your skills while working in a team, as a team will be having people with different skills and abilities.
It helps members improve your communication skills.
While working in a team, conflicts might occur in case when one member works less than the other.
When working as a team, a lot of meetings need to be scheduled. But in case if not handled properly can result in loss of time and decreases the efficiency of the team.
Decision-making process will be prolonged and delayed.

Increased productivity and performance-groups that work well together can achieve much more than individuals working on their own. A broader range of skills can be applied to practical activities and sharing and discussing ideas can play a pivotal role in deepening your understanding of a particular subject area.
Skills development-being part of a team will help members develop their interpersonal skills such as speaking and listening as well as team working skills such as leadership, and working with and motivating others. Some of these skills will be useful throughout their academic career and all are valued by teachers
Knowing more about them self -collaborating with others will help identify members own strengths and weaknesses (for example, you may be a better leader than listener, or you might be good at coming up with the ‘big ideas’ but not so good at putting them into action). Enhanced self-awareness will both help them approach to learning .

Online learning

Online learning encourages richer collaboration and reflection
Collaboration and reflection are key to effective learning. As we mentioned above, online learning technologies allow time for student reflection. In addition, they provide tools and spaces which members can use to collaborate with each other and their teachers.

Students learning online are able to express their thoughts without judgement or interruption. Not being physically present in a classroom can help people who feel nervous about speaking or asking questions. Learners often feel braver when they know they cannot be seen by other members of the class.

The slower pace of online conversation also tends to encourage more thoughtful and contemplative responses. This is because learners have time to formulate their response to a question or consider more fully their contribution to a discussion. In addition, the fact that an online conversation is recorded can encourage a more measured response from those taking part on the course. This permanence also has a more practical benefit as learners can revisit the conversation at any time to retrieve information or develop increased understanding.

Online learning focuses more on the learner
Online learning environments provide members with greater flexibility and more opportunities for personalised learning than a face-to-face classroom.

Online, members can study at a time and in a location where they feel most comfortable. They can study at their own pace, in chunks of time that best suit them, taking breaks when they need them without disruption to their fellow learners.
Members can decide how much to learn in one sitting. Online learning allows time for reflection and assimilation. Learners can take their time to review what they have learnt, and its relevance to their existing knowledge and circumstances.

A well designed online course allows learning to be differentiated in a non-threatening manner. A course can include activities that help and stretch learners of every ability. It can also be accessed as required, discretely and in the learners’ own time.
